Everett is a proverbial launchpad for skiers and snowboards wanting to shred the PNW. We're within a couple of hours (drive) from four world-class mountain resorts. Make Everett your base camp and take advantage of affordable lodging, proximity, and creature comforts (like beer and pizza).
If you are the adventurous, outdoorsy type, you can’t go wrong with just heading east on HWY 2, driving until you hit winter snows. There are many places to explore in the snowy Cascades. Just be sure to check for avalanche warnings beforehand or call the local ranger’s station.
Ice skating at Angel of the Winds Arena
Not enough time to head to the mountains? No sweat. Angel of the Winds Arena has an ice skating rink that is open to the public. It’s a 200’ x 85’ ice sheet: plenty of room to slip around and make mistakes. Perfect for that chilly winter cheer. For less than dinner out you can skate around (fun) or pirouette (bold!) for hours.
Angel of the Winds Arena regularly puts on events. The ice rink location is also shared by the Everett Silvertips, so it pays to visit their website or give the rink a call (425-322-2600) before, and to make sure they’ll be open during the time you plan to visit.
